Golfers

My hubby's squadron had a golf tournament to raise money for the Marine Corps Ball coming up in a couple of months. I was lucky enough to be the "unofficial" photographer.

It's a beautiful course and I had a great time driving around in a golf cart all day snapping shots.

And I was lucky enough to not get hit by any stray golf balls!

And there were plenty of those!

DH shouldn't quit his day job...

Warming up

Katie is playing soccer this year, and her team played their first game this weekend.

But before the game they have to warm up and stretch those muscles!

It was the first game of the day and still foggy.

But that kept it nice and cool for them!

Now they are ready for final instructions from the coach and for the game to begin!

And another one

This one didn't make it into the house.

CJ found it hanging out on the front porch light as he was heading out to school. I hope he ate lots of other bugs!

More bugs

Jeff was out doing a squadron thing when the kids and I found the scorpion.
He got home late, after we were already asleep. The next morning he woke up to someone quietly knocking at the front door.

He answered the door to find a giant tarantula. He said is name was Blackie and he was looking for his friend Scorpio.

Jeff hadn't met Scorpio yet, but invited Blackie in to see about finding his friend. But to keep him safe from the dogs, he decided it was a good idea to use the bug cage.

So the two friends were reunited briefly before Blackie went on his way again.

Remembering

Today this blog is dedicated to the victims of the terrorist attacks eight years ago,

to the men and women who have lost their lives serving our country,

and to our service members working hard to keep us safe.
