awwww....

Take a walk down this trail and you will find Harmony.

Meet Harmony. She is a Quarter horse filly born just a couple weeks ago. Isn't she adorable!

She lives near a geocache her human set up just outside her paddock.

My good friend Pam, who introduced me to the world of Geocaching, took me there to find Harmony.
We found her, and the cache.

har'mony n. agreement; combination of musical notes to make chords; melodious sounds.

ewww......

This creepy crawler was waiting for us to head out the door the other morning. He told the kids to have a great day at school, then went hunting for breakfast and wasn't seen again.
I was hoping he would still be there when I got back from dropping the kids off so he could tell me what happened to his leg. I bet it would have been a great story!

Disney again

Are you ready to continue with our visit to Disneyland? Me too. There's the Matterhorn!

There is more to the park than rides too. Katie and I stopped to listen to a Fire Brigade play some tunes.

We also looked for Hidden Mickeys. They are little mouse ears that are placed all over the park for you to find. We must have walked over this one a hundred times before spotting it.

There it is.

Can you guess what this marker is for?

It marks the geographic center of Walt Disney's original park. It's also a virtual geocache listed on Geocaching.com.

OK, back to the rides and a quick trip over to California Adventure.

CJ finally got to go on California Screamin'! He liked it, but still prefers Space Mountain.

Looks like you could walk all the way to Hollywood!

Dinner time. Shall we have the Catch of the Day? Oh wait, the kids are going to get awfully smelly playing in that pile of fish.

Well, that sure was a fun day! Thanks for coming with us! Let's ride this Monorail off into the sunset.

In a Galaxy far, far away...

Andrew wanted to join the Jedi Training Academy, just in case we ran across any forces from the Dark Side.
Jedi in training. Doesn't he look good in the Jedi robe?

Learning how to use the light sabre.

Good thing he knows how to use it now. Look who showed up!

Storm troopers!
Darth Vader!
And Darth Maul!! YIKES!! He needs to call his dermatologist...

This littlest of little Jedis in training chased away Darth Vader,
while Andrew took care of Darth Maul.
Good job Andrew! We are all safe now that the Dark Side has been dealt with. You will make a wonderful Jedi Knight!

The Happiest Place on Earth

I love Disneyland, and I'm so glad you are coming along with me! We spent the whole day there with my uncle, aunt and cousin from Tucson. Our day started by having breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.

Donald Duck stopped by and he and Katie had a great time teasing each other.

Since we spent the night in one of their hotels, we got to go in a hour before they opened the gates to the rest of SoCal. After riding in the front of the monorail, we stopped at several rides then hit the Enchanted Tiki Room. I have never been in there, and it is a really cute show, with singing parrots and flowers. It's on our list of things to do the next time we go.

My kids always love a ride on Thunder Mountain Mine Train. This time CJ asked to be in the front, and was told that the back seems faster because it gets thrown around a bit more than the front.
Guess where we sat. It's not easy taking pictures while sitting on the back of a roller coaster.

A trip to Disneyland isn't complete without the Riverboat Ride!

Or the Haunted Mansion. We managed to get Andrew hooked on pin trading. My apologies to Gary and Julie!

Whew, I'm getting tired and need a rest. So, while you are catching your breath and resting your feet a bit, here is a clip from the Enchanted Tiki Tiki Room. We will meet back here tomorrow.

Only One

Have you ever gone to Disneyland and rode only one ride? We did. It's really strange to get there, stand in line, ride one ride, and leave.

Did you guess which ride it was? Yep, Space Mountain. That was the one ride Andrew, CJ and Kaite wanted to get on before the park closed for the night.
And what a fun ride it is!

Gawsh!

Do you recognize this character? He was spotted in the lobby of the Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland. While the kids were checking out the gift shop I was playing with slowing the shutter speeds on my camera. You can gets lots of fun effects by moving your camera around while the shutter stays open for a bit.Now back to our regularly scheduled photos.

They are done shopping and ready to go on a ride or two!

Now all we need to do is wait a little bit longer for Andrew to get here!

Splish Splash Splosh

Watch out Katie! You are about to get wet!!
Well, maybe she wants to get wet!

BELLY FLOP! (ouch...)

On the count of three, JUMP!

CJ and Katie had a great time playing in the pool. Funny thing was we were at Disneyland! We were waiting on their cousin Andrew to arrive from Tucson to go to the park. What better way to spend an hour than cooling off in a pool.

Ocean Breezes

Just a few more photos from Torrey Pines.

We enjoyed breathing the fresh air coming off the Pacific, the views and the family time spent there.
