We headed up to Julian to spend the day in the mountains, and stopped at O'Dell's Organic Orchard to pick some pears.

They grow Bartlett and Bosc pears on their farm, and have about 300 trees.

And the trees were full of fruit!
They normally sell to Whole Foods, but had a late freeze that damaged some of the crop and felt it would be better to have people come and pick the pears themselves.

So we did!

The kids had a great time picking, and eating, and walking around the farm.

We took home lots of yummy pears too!

Bon appetit!
And MIGHTY delicious they were! Thanks for sharing your bounty!
