The power of backgrounds

I never used to think much about backgrounds. Afterall, it's not what I'm taking a picture of, right? Well, not exactly. Everything in the picture is what the picture is about.

This pretty red flower was just asking me to take its picture, so I obliged. As I looked at the picture I had just taken, I noticed the background could have been better, so I took one step to my right.
